Celebrate National Peanut Day with a handcrafted brittle that brings crunch, caramel, and a deep Demerara finish.
September 13 is National Peanut Day, and it’s the perfect excuse to bring back a nostalgic treat—elevated with real ingredients. This Demerara Peanut Brittle uses Bartender’s Secret Sauce Organic Demerara Syrup to create an ultra-rich caramel base that complements roasted peanuts with every crunchy bite.
Perfect for snacking, gifting, or topping cocktails and desserts, this recipe is simple, quick, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup Bartender’s Secret Sauce Demerara Syrup
ÂĽ cup water
1 tbsp unsalted butter
ÂĽ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
1 ½ cups roasted peanuts (unsalted)
Instructions:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
In a saucepan, combine sugar, Demerara syrup, and water over medium heat. Stir to dissolve.
Bring to a boil and cook until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter, salt, vanilla, baking soda, and peanuts.
Pour onto baking sheet and spread evenly. Let cool and harden, then break into pieces.
Demerara syrup replaces corn syrup and adds flavor complexity you don’t get from white sugar alone. Its molasses-rich sweetness and golden caramelization make this brittle feel gourmet without complicating the process.
