🐎 Run for the Roses Mint Julep 🐎

A Derby Day Classic with a Bold, Organic Twist

Nothing says “Kentucky Derby” like a frosty Mint Julep in hand. This Southern staple is traditionally made with bourbon, fresh mint, and sugar—but we’ve elevated it with Bartender’s Secret Sauce USDA Organic Demerara Syrup. The rich, caramel-like notes of demerara add warmth and depth, perfectly complementing the bold bourbon and refreshing mint. It's a simple swap that makes all the difference.

Whether you’re donning a seersucker suit or a wide-brimmed hat, this cocktail brings the charm of Churchill Downs to your home bar.

🥃 Mint Julep with Bartender’s Secret Sauce Demerara Syrup

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz Bourbon (we recommend a high-rye for extra kick)

    • 0.5 oz Bartender’s Secret Sauce USDA Organic Demerara Syrup

    • 8-10 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish

    • Crushed ice

    Instructions:

    1. In a julep cup or rocks glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the Demerara Syrup to release the oils.

    2. Add the bourbon and fill the glass with crushed ice.

    3. Stir well until the glass is frosty.

    4. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a generous sprig of mint (give it a slap to wake up the aroma).
