July 7 is World Chocolate Day, and there’s no better way to honor it than by baking a batch of cookies that go beyond basic. These Chocolate Chunk Cookies are soft in the center, crisp at the edges, and full of deep, caramelized flavor thanks to Bartender’s Secret Sauce USDA Organic Demerara Syrup.
By replacing part of the sugar with our syrup, you get a richer texture, a deeper flavor profile, and a cookie that stays moist longer. Whether you’re baking for a crowd or just yourself, these cookies are a celebration-worthy treat.
Ingredients (makes about 24 cookies):
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
Âľ cup brown sugar
¼ cup Bartender’s Secret Sauce Organic Demerara Syrup
½ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugars, and Demerara Syrup until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, and mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture.
Stir in chocolate chunks.
Scoop dough onto prepared sheets (about 2 tablespoons per cookie).
Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
